Like most other companies these days, LinkedIn has incorporated AI into its platform for a number of reasons, including generating content. But this feature may come at a cost to its users.

You are opted in by default

If you post anything on LinkedIn, by default—at least in the U.S.—LinkedIn has opted you in to using your data and content to help train and refine its AI. That may mean that anything you have already posted to your account may have been used for training purposes.

How to change the AI setting on LinkedIn

If you don’t want LinkedIn to use your data and content for training its AI in the future, head on over to your Settings, click on Data Privacy, and turn off the setting, “Data for Generative AI Improvement” under “How LinkedIn Uses Your Data.”

This is a good reminder to regularly go through your LinkedIn settings to see if there is anything new or if you would like to change any of your existing settings.
